COMPANY DESCRIPTION: innovation Research & Training (iRT), a behavioral sciences research company, in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a full-time Business Development Associate who desires to join an outstanding team. iRT is a small, innovative company that specializes in research, development, evaluation, and dissemination of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs. Our mission is to create products and services with proven outcomes that improve the health and well-being of children, adolescents, young adults, families, and communities.
JOB DESCRIPTION: If you are passionate about sales, driven to succeed, have strong interpersonal skills, work well independently, and care about the people’s health and well-being this job is for you! iRT is hiring a Business Development Associate for sales of our education and training programs. In this role, your main responsibilities will be to create prospect lists, make cold calls, and email prospects, as well as maintain timely, professional follow-ups with current and prospective customers. You will serve as the primary customer contact and support for sales and orders, growing our social networking presence, developing customer relationships, and assisting with marketing messages. You will keep management informed of customer feedback and maintain the Customer Relationship Management software (CRM). You can expect a collaborative experience with coaching, while also encouraged to think creatively and work independently. As an integral member of a small business, you will work closely with Research Scientists, Communication Specialists, Business Office, and the company President. This is a challenging and rewarding professional opportunity. We are looking for individuals with strong business acumen and successful sales experience.
- Research potential lead sources
- Develop target lists for lead generation
- Manage customers in CRM
- Perform outbound calling and writing emails for sales outreach
- Draft agreement terms in templates
- Other activities and tasks may be assigned based on experience and interests
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in business, marketing, or sales
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be comfortable making cold calls
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Proficient computer skills
- Attentive to details
- Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and ecommerce reporting
- Interest in marketing and communications
- Experience with a CRM
